A little haggard from the night’s interruption, the group breaks camp and begins searching for wreckage of the boat. Goomy’s keen elven eyes pick up on a trail of ballast which leads the group directly to the wreckage. A feeble voice calls out for help from above before fading, and the group decides to gather rope and climb. Before they can climb, a group of ghouls with painted triangles on their foreheads charges the group. Goomy turns several of them, and the group dispatches the rest.
Goomy, Simon, Flavius, and Sin ascend the wreckage to discover several corpses: dead of starvation, and a single living soul, to weak to move. The group provides her with some food and medical attention, and while they are distracted, a small group of zombie gorillas boards the wreckage and tosses overboard those who hadn’t already acquainted themselves with gravity’s cruel embrace. The zombie gorillas toss several of the crew off the ship, including the one survivor. The gorillas swing from the tree branches and rapidly descend to the jungle floor. After a fierce battle, the group defeats the gorillas and begins licking their wounds. Once he regains consciousness, Musharib urges that the group moves from the wreckage, and casts an enchantment to hide the group’s trail.
Before they depart the wreckage, the group scrounges up some supplies, and Sindyrza confronts Flavius about his choice to flee the combat. After a tense conversation, the group makes their way southwest of the of the shipwreck.
The night is tense: every watch is disturbed by shrieks, laughter, and songs. Musharib assures Sin that no one could have tracked them this far into the jungle, and once the calls stop, returns to sleep.
