35th Day, 18 Kythorn 1492 DR

The group makes their way along the river through another day of rain until they reach a waterfall. Goomy gathers some rope and ascends the cliff from which the waterfall spills after a rough start. The rest of the party ascends one-by-one. As Sindy clambers up over the cliff, she spots a dozen grungs–frogfolk–brandishing weapons and croaking at the PCs.

The group tries to negotiate, but cannot communicate with the frog folk. Simon tries to make peace by offering the group his trophy from the four-armed gorilla the group defeated. The grungs immediately devolve to in-fighting over the trophy, and the group uses the chaos as an excuse to slip away through the jungle. They circle back to the river and make their way onward. During a travel break, the group picks up a scent like spoiled poultry and death. Simon, Therdek, and Goomy search for an outcropping from which they can keep an eye out for whatever the source of the stench was. After a few moments, about half a dozen snakefolk in tattered rags and bearing grisly wounds emerge from the jungle. They march toward the group. Unnoticed yet, the party decides to sneak away while they still can. Unfortunately, a few clumsy steps reveal their presence to the lingering serpentfolk.

After a brief battle and divine intercession from Sehanine (thanks to the ranger, Goomy), the undead serpentfolk are routed.
