The day is much, much cooler thanks to a strong, consistent breeze and a steady rain. One foot after the other. Moment after moment. The group divvies up chores: Simon and Therdek spend the day foraging, and Goomy manages to fell a small herbivorous dinosaur. It is delicious. With full bellies, the group’s spirits pick up, and they march onward. Sindy calls for the group to pause as she sees five figures hiding in the jungle. They appear camouflaged and difficult to see. They retreat out of sight once Sindy lays eyes on them. The group remains on high alert.
Unfortunately, that high alert fails as several Jaculi leap from trees above the party and attack. Sindy is downed by their initial attack, and Doz is gravely wounded. The group fights back and eventually recovers. Doz, unfazed by the near-death incident, sets to butchering some snake meat. Third time’s a charm! Jaculi’s on the menu.
