Artus Cimber still wears a Harper’s pin and was once a member of the Society of Stalwart Adventurers (based out of Suzail in Cormyr). He disappeared in the 14th century in search of a fabled and reputedly cursed artifact: the Ring of Winter.
Recently, he has re-emerged in the jungles of Chult with his saurial traveling companion, Dragonbait. He has returned to Chult in hopes of reuniting with his wife, Alisanda Rayburton. She disappeared over a century ago during Mezro’s apparent destruction. Reluctantly, Artus Cimber revealed to his new friends and allies that he indeed found the Ring of Winter, and that many unscrupulous factions seek to acquire it from him.
Saja N’baza assured Artus he would be reunited with his wife once Mezro could be returned to Chult. Mezro had survived the Spellplague after all, but it would remain hidden away until Ras Nsi is defeated. With that new hope, Artus and Dragonbait pledged to help their new companions on their quest to Omu.
