After a night’s reprieve, Chult unleashes a day of heat unlike any the group has experienced before. Sweat drenches everyone, and breathing becomes forced. The day crawls. During a break, the group spots a bright flash of red overhead, and a few squawks reveal a circling parrot. Doz calls out to the parrot, and after a moment, it rests on his outstretched forearm. It pauses for a moment, then speaks three times, “The jungle claims us all in the end!” before flying off into the jungle.
Undeterred by the parrot’s warning, the group continues their journey. For a moment, the jungle attempts to claim the group, when swarms of centipedes overtake the camp and attempt to devour several people. Fortunately, some quick thinking scatters the swarms.
