The rain finally subsides, and Therdek manages to hunt and slay a dinosaur to feed the group. Flavius manages to find a sinda berry bush, and Goomy and Sin decide to sneak up on a group of people arguing near the River Tath. They identify themselves as explorers from the Sword Coast: Olga (apparently a practitioner of the Art), the balding and bumbling Borislav (former toad), the toadie Roland, and their Chultan guide, Sana (who may be familiar with guides who do not strictly work for Jobal). They had arrived along the western coast of Chult, only to be beset by pirates out of Jahaka Anchorage. They are here in the jungles in search of a lost (and cursed, according to Sana) treasure of Tamoachan.
After deliberation and discussion, the group decides to help the beleaguered group to the ruins of Tamoachan for a 60/40 split of the treasure. They set up camp, and Flavius begins to brew some sinda berry tea.
