Heavy winds rustle through camp as the party rises for the next day of travel.
The group encounters a group of curious flying monkeys accompanied by the echoing laughter of old women. The flying monkeys follow the party until they make camp for lunch. A few of the braver monkeys approach the camp. Simon offers one a nibble of food, and the monkeys descend in a frenzy upon the group. After the chaos, the party realizes that a number of their possessions are missing. The group pursues the thieving monkeys further into the jungle until Musharib suggests he talk to them. At the group’s behest, Musharib offers a barter: food in return for the belongings.
Once the monkeys see the food, they descend from the canopy and relinquish their ill-gotten gains. It appears, though, they led the group into a trap, as a pack of velociraptors ambush the party.
In a flash of thunder, Sindy severely wounds most of the velociraptors, scattering them throughout the jungle. Musharib is rendered unconscious, but Goomy restores him quickly. The group takes some time to recover and then continues marching onward.
