19th Day, 3 Kythorn, 1492 DR

An ominous sign: swarms of bats flutter overhead, as if fleeing from something. Before midday, the group arrives at a walled settlement. Could this finally be Camp Vengeance?

The group delivers Undril Silvertusk to Camp Vengeance, and meets the beleaguered Commander Breakbone. The Commander expects the party to transport the camp’s sick and wounded soldiers back to Port Nyanzaru along with some requisitions. The group debates whether they will acquiesce to the demands. Sister Cyas appears willing to speak on their behalf after Goomy heals a number of the wounded soldiers.

Before the group can reach a decision, the camp goes into high alert as something large approaches from the jungle!

The gates are closed and soldiers scramble to equip themselves and station the guard towers as a tyrannosaur emerges from the jungle. It charges the gate, attempting to force its way into the camp. In a moment of unequivocal brilliance, Doz decides to put together a lasso and attempt to tame the dinosaur. Not to be outdone, Therdek and Flavius leap onto its back. After the T-Rex bucks the dwarf and the half-elf, Doz manages to pull the dinosaur away from the gate.
Angered, the T-Rex charges the gate again, tossing Doz from its back. It smashes part of the palisade, then snatches Doz in its jaws before retreating.

Facing death, Doz musters all of his might to wrench himself free from the dinosaur’s jaw. The party regroups, and a few aid the Order in burying their fallen comrade. As the excitement dies down, Sin’s keen senses pick up the scent of death, realizing that the destroyed corpse before her could not have rot so quickly–the stench is approaching from behind.

Camp Vengeance resumes high alert status as Sin raises a stink. The soldiers work to seal the fault in the wall created by the hungry tyrannosaur, only to fall short as a horde of zombies led by a seemingly intelligent undead floods into the camp. Doz stems the tide for as long as he can, with the soldiers at his back. Searching for a vantage point, Therdek rushes to the top of the gatehouse with Goomy close behind. Goomy stands toe-to-toe with the a pair of undead that have scaled the walls before being overpowered.

Therdek spies the apparent leader, and leaps from the guardhouse, plummeting with the undead into the pit below.

Sin harries the undead with her lightning as the soldiers rush to stop their relentless advance; Therdek engages the leader in single combat in the muck below. Simon pushes a barrel of pitch into the horde and sets it ablaze. As the battle turns against the remaining undead, they flee the combat, scampering into the jungle. The sun sets as Camp Vengeance takes stock of its losses.

After a very tense discussion, the group uses their conch shell to communicate Camp Vengeance’s highest priority requisitions, cures disease among the most ill soldiers, and offers up their extra canoes. Doz uses the last of the conch shell to communicate to Syndra Silvane for help negotiating, but she acknowledges that it will be some time. With this, Commander Breakbone acquiesces, and permits the group to leave, ordering their water supplies to be replenished, and provisioning them with some fresh meat and trail rations. The group begins loading up their canoes as they discuss where they will head next.
