14th Day, 28 Mirtul, 1492 DR

The group meets a few stranded Chultan women with a beached and shattered canoe. The women looked haggard and emaciated, and were desperate for supplies. The group offered to give them a waterskin and offered them a ride across the River Soshenstar.

The group escorts the women across the river, and then agrees to see them home to their hut. There, the women offer them three boons in return for the favors given: a fishbone charm which can be broken and thrown at the feet of a willing creature to make them undetectable by undead, a sea shell charm which can be used three times to send a short message (and receive a message from) a person the user knows, and a necklace which should ensure the wearer never becomes lost. Doz took care of the items. Before the group left, the women offered the group sound advice for fishing the River Soshenstar (effectively granting advantage on survival checks to catch fish for the next 3 days) in return for a single hair from Sindyrza.

The group arrived at a ruined camp in the evening, and explored to find no inhabitants, save for a squawking bird in a pen, and a startled snake that bit Simon before slithering out of sight. The tents appeared to have been deliberately destroyed by some form of slashing weapons or claws, and the burned out building sitting above the encampment revealed a silver holy symbol of Torm. It appears that a second group moved through the camp, deliberately, some time before the last storm and subsequent rainfall. After exploring most of the camp, and failing to calm the bird, the group decides to investigate the large stone statue, discovering a large entry chamber with a tall ceiling thick with cobwebs, and the floor strewn with mud, creepers, leaves, and other detritus blown in from the storm.

The party explores the remainder of the camp, finding a humanoid corpse trapped in one of the latrines, and a parchment forbidding entrance into the large statue dominating the center of the camp.
